Lovely Lace Cookies
Last month, my friend Maria over at The Yancey House asked me to do cookies for a Valentine Tea Party. She sent me a clipping from a magazine of some beautifully styled cookies. They were tremendously detailed and delicate. I was thrilled with the challenge of doing them and they turned out absolutely gorgeous. Maria handed out the cookies to her guests at the Tea and got rave reviews for them. One of her guests contacted me about a week later to see if I could do a similar concept for a wedding shower she was hosting. Their theme was lace and burlap and the colors were blush and cream, which was so inspiring for me. I have to say ya'll I think these may be my best cookies yet!

Welcome to the World Carson Fisher!
My friend Jessica finally had her sweet baby boy Carson just a little more than a week ago. He has a really cool birth date 3/13/13! I got the chance to go visit their family while they were in the hospital. I took my camera with me to capture some of the excitement. Here are some of my favorites.

Anchors Away!
In my last post I showed ya'll some invites I did for my friend Jessica's baby shower. Well last Sunday we celebrated Jessica and sweet Baby Carson. I enjoyed hanging out with our friends, it seems the older we get the less we get to see each other, sigh. But we enjoyed each other on Sunday and got Jessica some good stuff for Baby Carson.
I love parties and I love planning so of course planning parties is the best thing in the world to me! In the midst of my planning, I completely forgot to bring my camera to take pictures of the shower. I know, smooth move Heather. The theme was Ahoy! It's a Boy! Jessica's colors for Carson's room are Blue and Lime Green so I carried those over to the shower. And you know I couldn't do a party without some of my yummy custom cookie favors :) so I did get some pictures of those for ya'll.
I'm so excited for Jessica and Zach! And I can't wait to meet their little treasure.

Ahoy! It's a Boy!
My sweet friend Jessica is having a baby! I could not wait to celebrate with her and our friends, so I'm hosting a baby shower for her. Jessica has been posting the cutest pictures of the nursery she's been working on for her baby boy Carson. She chose a nautical theme with sailboats and anchors. Her colors are navy blue and lime green which I think was a unique fun twist on the nautical look. I love all things nautical so I really wanted to carry over the theme of the nursery to the shower.
Of course the start of any party is the invitation. Creating invitations is something I love to do so I made a quick trip to Hobby Lobby. I bought a cute lime green polka dot scrapbook paper, kraft scrapbook paper and navy blue envelopes. I cut the polka dot paper to 5x7 and kraft paper 4x6 the size needed for the invite. For the print on the invite I wanted a unique nautical font. You may not know that Pinterest is a great place to find free fonts! I did a quick search on the site and found this blog by Ella Claire which links to several free font downloads. I downloaded a few of the fonts and printed the invite directly onto the kraft paper. To attach the kraft paper to the polka dot paper I first tried a glue stick but it caused the entire invite to curl. So I decided used scrapbook squares. They look like little white tape squares. It takes a little bit longer to stick the squares to the kraft paper and peel the paper off of them but the look that you achieve with the squares is so much better than the glue stick. The last step was to jazz up the blue envelopes. In the Square in Marietta there is a store that sells only rubber stamps! My husband and I took a quick trip down to the store and bought a little anchor stamp. I used white ink and stamped the anchor onto the flap of the envelope. To address the envelopes I used a white ink gel pen. Here is the result:

Christmas Cookies 2013
It's the most wonderful time of the year folks! I love the Christmas season. Everyone seems to make just a little extra effort to be together, celebrate and express their love and appreciation.And what better way to express that love than with Christmas cookies! These are definitely my favorite cookies to create every year. I got an order from Maria over at the Yancey House again this year. It wasn't another 300 like I did for her last year, haha. But a couple dozen for her to share with her family and friends. stretched myself creatively this year, used some new cookies cutters and I have to say I was pretty impressed with myself. I just love how these turned out.

Falling for Baby
I got a bit of a surprise order earlier this month from my cousin's girlfriend. She was hosting a baby shower for a friend of hers, shortly after Thanksgiving. I've done lots of baby shower cookies before but Heather wanted something a little different. The theme for the party was Falling for Baby. So I came up with a fun mix of baby shower and fall cookies. The real challenge was coming up with a color scheme. Heather really wanted to incorporate the teal color she was planning for the shower decor. So I had to come up with fall colors that worked with teal. I was pretty happy with the results.
This was a fun order! Hope you enjoy them.

Opening Day!
Today is THE day! We have offically opened Cherry Blossom Crafting in Lovin Florist. Mom, Leslie and I worked so hard to get everything together. We're so pleased with the result and can't wait for you to see it. So without further adue...
